Buster Moon and his friends must convince rock star Clay Calloway to join them in the opening of a new show.
Buster and his new cast are already planning to kick off a new show at the glamorous Crystal Tower Theater in Redshore City. But without a connection, he and the singer must sneak into the offices of Crystal Entertainment, run by unscrupulous wolf tycoon Jimmy Crystal, where the band comes up with the ridiculous idea to cast rock lion legend Clay Calloway on their show. Buster must go find the now isolated Clay and persuade him to return to the stage.
